Advantage Realty (“Advantage”, “we”, “us”) provides real estate and property document verification services across Nigeria. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
1. Information we collect
Account and contact details: your name, email address and phone number when you create an account, request a verification, or contact us.
Verification documents: property documents you submit for verification (such as offer letters, allocation letters, Certificates of Occupancy, Rights of Occupancy and Title Deed Plans) and related details needed to perform searches with the relevant land registries.
Payment information: payments are processed by Paystack, our payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment, amount and a transaction reference, we do not receive or store your full card details.
Usage data: device, browser and usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
Chat conversations: messages you send through our support chat, used to respond to your enquiries and improve our service.
2. How we use your information
To deliver the services you request, including performing document verification searches, preparing verification reports and providing property listings.
To process payments, send receipts and confirmations, and prevent fraud.
To respond to enquiries and provide customer support, including through our AI-assisted chat.
To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including record-keeping and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
To improve our services. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Legal bases
We process your data on the basis of contract performance (delivering the services you request), your consent (e.g. marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (service improvement and fraud prevention), and legal obligation (tax and regulatory record-keeping).
4. Sharing your information
Land registries and government agencies: limited document details necessary to carry out the verification you request (for example AGIS for Abuja property searches).
Service providers: payment processing (Paystack), cloud hosting, communications and analytics providers, each bound by appropriate data protection obligations.
Legal requirements: where disclosure is required by law, court order or a competent regulatory authority.
5. Data retention
We keep verification records and reports for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised. You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive credentials, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as required by law.
7. Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email office@advantage.ng. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
8. Children
Our services are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date.
